At one point in time, many would have never even dreamed of owning equipment and software that was directly used by NASA, but in 2012 that dream is about to come true The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has announced

plans to auction off a number of its advanced software patents at the fifteenth ICAP Ocean Tomo IP Auction in California. Patent lots fall into three categories: automated software generation, autonomic computing architectures and autonomic management of environmental monitoring systems. This auction platform will help NASA achieve its commitment to disseminate information about technical achievements and to promote the use of NASA-sponsored technology development for uses beyond NASA missions.
